Import bank transactions via CSV

How to import bank statements as a CSV file and match payments to your invoices and expenses.

Updated 20 October 2026

With the bank CSV import you bring transactions from your online banking into Chingvoice – on every plan. A direct online banking connection is coming soon.

1. Export a CSV file from your online banking

Almost every bank lets you export transactions as a CSV file. Choose the period and download the file. The menu name differs from bank to bank.

2. Import the file into Chingvoice

  1. Open Banking. The first time, create your business account via Add account.
  2. Click Import CSV, pick the account and drop the file into the field (or click Choose or drop a CSV file).
  3. The format of common banks (e.g. Sparkasse, Deutsche Bank, ING, DKB, N26, Wise, PayPal) is detected automatically. For other banks Chingvoice switches to Manual mapping (or click Map columns), where you choose date, amount, purpose and counterparty.
  4. Check the preview and click Import … transactions.

3. Match transactions

  • If Chingvoice finds a fitting invoice (amount, invoice number in the purpose, name), a Suggestion appears – one click on Match is enough.
  • Without a suggestion, use Match… to pick an open invoice or expense yourself.
  • Incoming payments on invoices are booked as payments – the invoice becomes Paid or Partially paid.
  • Outgoing payments are linked to an existing expense, or you create a new one directly via Create expense.

Tips

  • Import regularly, e.g. monthly, to keep matching manageable.
  • Overlapping periods are fine: transactions you already imported are detected and skipped (“already imported”).
  • Chingvoice is not a bank: we have no access to your account and do not execute payments.
