With payment reminders (from the Start plan) you remind clients of open invoices – in several stages and with customisable texts.
Find overdue invoices
The Overview and Invoices show all open items. Overdue invoices are highlighted, and the ageing view shows how long amounts have been open.
Send a reminder or notice
- Open the overdue invoice and click Create reminder (or Remind).
- Choose the Level: payment reminder, first dunning notice or final demand. You can adjust the fee, interest and new deadline.
- Check subject and text. Invoice number, outstanding amount and new deadline are filled in automatically; edit the templates under Settings → Texts & emails.
- Click Create & PDF or By e-mail.
Each stage is logged on the invoice, so you always know what has been sent.
Automatic reminders (Plus)
On Plus, you set how many days after the due date a reminder is sent automatically – no need to remember it yourself.
Legal background in brief (Germany)
- A debtor is in default no later than 30 days after the due date and receipt of the invoice; for consumers only if the invoice pointed this out (§ 286(3) BGB).
- In default, interest may be charged – 5 percentage points above the base rate for consumers, 9 for businesses (§ 288 BGB).
- Towards businesses, a €40 flat fee may also be claimed.
