An XRechnung is an e-invoice in XML format according to the European standard EN 16931. Chingvoice generates it from your normal invoice data – on every plan.
Prerequisites
For a complete e-invoice you need:
- complete company details incl. tax number or VAT ID and IBAN
- complete client details (name, address)
- for public authorities, the client’s Leitweg-ID (in the customer record under “Leitweg-ID / buyer reference”)
Generate the XRechnung
- Open the invoice and click Finalize & PDF.
- In the detail view, click XRechnung (XML).
- Chingvoice downloads the XML file. If mandatory details are missing, the checklist in the invoice draft tells you before you finalize.
From the Start plan you can click ZUGFeRD-PDF to create a hybrid PDF instead: a regular PDF with the XML data embedded. Handy for recipients who want to view the PDF and import the data automatically.
Delivery
- To businesses: by email as an attachment – when sending via Send by e-mail you can attach the XRechnung directly. Agree in advance whether your client prefers XRechnung or ZUGFeRD.
- To public authorities: via the relevant invoice portal, e.g. the federal or state portals, where you upload the XML file.
Good to know
- An XRechnung isn’t easy to read without a viewer, so attach a PDF as well if your client wants one.
